A selection of portraits taken in a mobile studio using a 20 x 25 large-format camera on black glass dry plates. The plates are developed in direct positive mode using an inversion process based on a traditional technique that requires a high degree of skill in exposure and plate handling. It is no longer possible to reproduce this process.
